Ragen Mendenhall

Ragen’s Mendenhall's powerful images are fantastic depictions of a spirit world where nymphs and fairies dance amongst dragonflies, and winged goddesses arise through ethereal mists. Nature is perfectly enchanted under the spell of the paintbrush as birds and beasts find mystical transformation into the guise of the wise woman. It might be said that Mother Nature herself, beaming with resplendence, sits before the artist to be captured on the canvas.

The art of Ragen is often recognized for its incredible detail and soft, feminine quality, yet it is her distinctive ability to capture a world of fantasy in a strikingly emotional style that intrigues viewers most.

Traveling throughout the country, Ragen has introduced her visionary artworks to an appreciative audience. Her dramatically beautiful images have graced the covers of books and CDs and her self-published print collection can now be found in a growing number of stores and galleries across the country. Such as her recent 2008 showing at the Whalen Gallery in

Ragen’s inspiration continues to blossom, as she creates her newest masterpieces in her Las Vegas studio.

Celestial visions that give reverence to the great beauty of our planet

My art is created from a strong desire to explore universal symbolism and to express the beauty of the human experience in all forms. I strive to entertain a rich tapestry of emotions within my work to acknowledge the diversity of life's journey, and to emphasize the strength of our collective experience.

Tracy remarks that she has always been drawn to the fantasy world of faeries, elves and the like. Her art style is influenced by the anime style of art, or Japanese Anime. Such series as Sailor Moon, Ranma 1/2 and Lodoss War inspire her. Since getting into the anime style of art, Tracy has evolved her own distinct style with a fantasy flair and we look forward to her appearance at the 2009 Phoenix Faerie Festival.

Courtney Leigh

Goodyear Arizona Fantasy Artist 20 year old Courtney Leigh.

Courtney grew up on an ostrich farm in Arizona where her rural lifestyle helped feed her imagination and her love for art. This emerging new fantasy artist made her debut in a gnarly forest in Nov. 2008 at the Phoenix Faerie Festival. After graduating from a performing arts school and getting her degree from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, Courtney chose to follow the path that repeatedly drew her to the artistic world of myth and fantasy. Her natural talent and unique imagination have compelled her to create a series of fantasy characters of all sorts, and on to a mystical world of a slightly dark unknown. In her own words, “I love fantasy because it allows me to create a world of my own. It defies logic and can be turned into anything, with endless possibilities.”

Courtney finds inspiration from the darker aspects of storytelling and mystery, which inspired her to begin writing about her imaginative adventures as well. “I love things that make you look twice,” she says. “Fantasy can be strange and eerie. There are no rules, which is what makes it beautiful.” You can find more about Courtney Leigh and her art at www.CourtneyLeighCreations.com
